These Austin brand photos for a local copywriter take a fresh, edgy spin to capture her personal brand. It is one of my new favorite sessions to date! Planning these unique Austin brand photos with Sarah helped make her session goals clear. Sarah needed content that would feel fresh and original and help her elevate […]
For her personal brand session, we incorporated her love for plants and floral elements and her beloved brand “mascot”, her dog, Yoda, into her brand photography session. Heather is a bright and quirky person so her photos needed to reflect that. We wanted her session to be creative and personal and to show her heart for animals, her love for the environment, and how these things influence her beauty standards and approach to her services.
Your brand photos are not only about you.
Branding photography is a chance for us to communicate with the people we want to be reaching. To speak directly to them.
But you don’t want to speak to everyone. If you’re speaking to everyone, you’re reaching no one.
Maybe you think photos of yourself never turn out well (I have a way of helping you show up beautifully and naturally on camera). Or maybe you’re someone, like Monique here, who has never even had as she put it, “proper photos taken”. Let’s change that.
How do you make the most of your Austin brand photoshoot so that it’s a reflection of your spirit and isn’t the same thing you see time and time again?

The main goal for this Austin Branding Photo Session was to attract a high-end market that trusted Robin with the creative control and direction of their design project while getting the sense that she was artistic and fun. This drove several of our creative and stylistic decisions… we wanted to establish credibility and also create a sense of whimsy.
With the “Human-First” approach, Megan reminds us to prioritize our humanity while running a business, in essence putting our mental health and well-being at the forefront so that we can then in turn be overall better business owners and contributors to the world (including our own, obviously).
This drove the inspiration behind our Austin brand photo session which Megan came all the way from Minnesota for!
That’s why there’s a mix of bed-shots, desk shots, some dirty laundry, and lots of socks, as well as headshots and content photos, of course.
Aparna is a local Austin artist who primarily works with oil paints and graphite. For your Brand Photo Session, we create a visual story that encapsulates who you are and what you do. Here you get a sense of who Aparna is as an artist— what kind of work she creates, what inspires her. We get a glimpse into her studio space, her work tools, the way she approaches and creates her artwork, even how she moves.
Your photos often set the first impression you make on your audience. They are a main point of connection and if they’re done well, they help you build trust and establish credibility in your field and your little corner of the internet.
Your ideal client and your super-power as a business owner will lead us in the decisions we make about your photo location, your personal brand wardrobe, the work items + props we tie in, the colors and overall mood we set, and even down to your expressions and poses. Your answer to questions like these will really inspire and narrow down the direction of your branding session.
When you avoid the common mistakes I see in brand photography time and time again, you help positively position yourself and you stand out from the crowd. Brand photography is an essential part of your business, so take the time to give your photoshoot the thought and care it deserves. Whether you’re preparing to work […]
Let me tell you why I ultimately chose Dubsado and why I haven’t regretted it for one single day. I only wish I had done it sooner.
I knew a CRM was going to be a financial investment but also would require a lot of time upfront so I wanted something that did it all. I compared Dubsado to HoneyBook, 17 Hats, Tave, and a few companies met some or most of my “must-have” list… but here’s where Dubsado really turned the tide for me…

I work with business owners to help them enrich their online presence with personal brand photography and from time to time, potential clients will ask me: What do you think about using Stock Photography to hold me over for awhile? I have some opinions on the matter of opting for stock imagery over personal brand […]
