So, when Jodie initially inquired, booked our top service immediately, and then invited me to her home art studio here in Austin, TX for her creative artist brand photoshoot, I knew I was in on something special. Jodie’s beautiful personality and confident, expressive energy shine through every brushstroke she splashes onto a canvas, as you’ll see. It was so important to us that her brand photos reflect the fun, authentic spirit she brings to her work and also a bit of the F* OFF attitude she applies to everything she does.

Jodie’s Colorful Art Studio Photo Session
One of the many reasons I love working with Artists so much is tied to their beautiful use of color, texture, and mess that they proudly wear and display in their spaces. Like her art, Jodie’s studio in her Austin home is a gorgeous, colorful, and all-around full display of life, joy, and personal depth.
As soon as Jodie got a brush in her hand, all bets were off. In fact, I had to ask her to slow down because it was if her instincts just took over and her body stepped right into its natural artistic rhythms, quickly moving around the art space as if no one else stood there. She wore her signature blue button-down shirt with messy handprints covering her chest in her favorite joyful color - yellow. Witnessing her in her element was like watching a flower bloom, flickering creativity in motion.
During the shoot, she smiled, laughed, and stopped what she was doing to say, “This is so much fun!” Honestly, that’s the energy we aim for in every brand photoshoot—one that feels natural, authentic, and true to who you are. One that alights all of our hearts with passion and fire.
With every shot, we captured moments of Jodie in flow, completely absorbed in her painting. Embracing the paint, the spills, the splatter. These moments weren’t staged—they were her, fully immersed in the art she loves and being fully present in the physicality of it.
Jodie opted for our brand motion add-on (a little extra magic we offer at Alicia Leigh Photography), which brought even more dimension and personal warmth to her session. These short b-roll video clips gave life to her movements, her expressions and adding layers of depth and variety to her brand visuals.
